Local Authority Flexibility

At our company, we want to help as many people as possible with their energy needs. That’s why we offer Local Authority Flexibility Eligibility (LA Flex). Even if you don’t qualify for the usual benefits, LA Flex allows you to receive energy-saving insulation or central heating systems if you have a low income or receive benefits.

The LA Flex scheme is an extension of the ECO scheme eligibility provided by the local authority. This scheme has been designed to allow more people to apply for funding by broadening the eligibility criteria. This means that if you are not currently receiving benefits, you may still be eligible for assistance. Homeowners and private renters may be eligible to apply for this scheme. Unfortunately, social housing tenants are not eligible at this time.

Each council has its own set of criteria and requirements, and while you may meet them, it is not guaranteed that you will be eligible.

The local authorities have established specific requirements to qualify which include

  • If a individual residing at the property is experiencing a particular illness or medical condition.
  • If a occupant of the property is pregnant.
  • The number of children who are residing at the property, along with their ages.
  • If occupant of the property is above a specific age.
  • If the household income falls below a certain threshold.

If you meet the requirements for LA Flex, you may be able to take advantage of several benefits. These may include:‌

Application And Evidence

To apply for ECO4 Flex, you’ll need to fill out an application form which we will submit it through to your local council on your behalf, along with the application form, you’ll need to provide supporting documents, such as proof of income, to determine your eligibility. Please note that residents cannot send the application form directly to the council. Your local council may take 1 to 4 weeks to approve the application, so make sure all required evidence has been submitted. They may also ask for additional proof or documents to process your application. Please ensure all paperwork is complete, as applications with incomplete paperwork or required evidence will be refused.

 

There are three routes you can take when making an application

  • Route 1: Household income
  • Route 2: Proxy targeting
  • Route 3: NHS referrals 

What measures can be installed

Once your application has been approved, a Retrofit survey will be carried out to determine which measures can be installed in your home. The following measures may be installed, subject to the survey and other terms and conditions:

  • First time central heating (FTCH) for those without a current heating system
  • Insulation (Loft/Cavity Wall/External Wall/Internal Wall)
  • Non-Condensing Boiler replacement
